Nikon FM 35mm Kodak Portra Portraits

I normally shoot with Kodak film, whether Kodak T-Max for black and white film photography or Kodak Portra for colour film photography. I always think film photos have an extra dimension to digital shots. What I love even more about film is the colour tones from Kodak Portra film. For my model photography and wedding photography Portra gives me natural looking skin tones for portraits that I find pleasing to the eye and better than digital colour tones.

I shoot both 35mm Kodak Portra 160 and medium format 120 Kodak Portra 400 & 800

Here are a few more examples using Kodak Portra with my little Nikon FM SLR manual film camera

For digital photography I shoot with a Nikon D800 DSLR for my model shoots. The nicest colours tones on this body come from my Zeiss lenses. I much prefer the colours to Nikkor glass.

I also use a Leica M9 for wedding photography and I prefer the Leica body/ Leica M mount lens tones to Nikon tones overall.

Portra beats digital for natural colours in my view and I used 35mm and 120 medium format film in 160, 400 and 800 speeds. All are great.
