Pimp my Leica (M9) – for Weddings!
Mr Leica – Matthew Osborne Photography – Coventry Wedding Photographer, UK
At my last Leica wedding I was using my Leica M9 with some heavy (in Leica M terms) prime lens. The next day I had to change what camera I used to give my hand a rest. As per my last post I then ordered a Leica Thumbie Thumb Grip (self adhesive brass thumb grip that does not use the hotshoe) which is now fitter.
When shooting longer focal length Leica M prime lenses, especially if they are fast primes such as f1, f1.2, f1.4, f2 etc it can be tricky to nail focus at the widest apertures when pushed for time such as during a wedding. For this reason I bought and have fitted a Leica 1.4x Viewfinder Magnifier giving me 1:1 view with a 50mm lens such as my Leica Noctilux 50mm f1.
The sun is forecast to hit the UK this weekend so I have my 3 stop ND filter fitted to my Nocti 50f1 lens. The lens is attached to the M9 and they sit patiently in my Billingham Handley Digital bag ready to go!
Can’t wait! 🙂 New Leica wedding photos coming soon! Have a great weekend. 🙂
