Portraits, Don’t know where to start?
I was in exactly the same situation 10+ years ago. (In fact I was worse than that! As an introvert I couldn’t even hold eye contact with people!)
Photography has become my golden ticket and now my confidence is sky high during a photoshoot. A model said to me, “You’re not an introvert!”
Build your portfolio
Many photographers come to me to learn how to improve their portrait photography. I teach portraiture by inviting professional models for us to work with (1 on 1 or as small groups depending on the event). Before you can attract your own models to photograph first you need to build a strong portfolio. Photos you take during our workshop can be used to showcase your best work. Build up a series of great portraits and then reach out to models directly (as explained in my eBooks).
I teach you everything I know after over a decade of photographing models (UK, Europe and US).
Portrait lighting, communication & planning
These are just some of the skills we will cover during our workshop together. I teach you how to see light and take flattering portraits in camera. We cover photography with available light and/ or additional lighting (speedlights, LED etc). You will see the importance of good communication skills, how to plan a photoshoot, choosing your location, posing a model, building rapport, and everything else that goes into successfully photographing people.
Can’t afford a 1:1 workshop? No problem!
Check out my eBooks to learn the basics and complete the survey so I can reach out to you when I’m teaching group workshop events in your area –
